Indications/Uses
Prophylaxis & chronic treatment of asthma. Symptomatic relief of day- & nighttime seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & adolescent ≥15 yr 1 tab once daily in the evening.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to bisulfites. Not to be used for acute asthma attacks. Not to be substituted for inhaled or oral corticosteroids. Not to be given to patients w/ eosinophilia, vasculitic rash, worsening pulmonary symptoms, cardiac complications &/or neuropathy. Not to be taken by patients w/ galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Upper resp infection. Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting; elevated serum transaminase (ALT, AST) levels; rash; pyrexia.
Drug Interactions
CYP3A4 inducers eg, phenytoin, phenobarb, rifampicin.
